Our Story

Our family has been in the restaurant business for quite a while, and today, at La Taqueria, we’re bringing authentic Mexican street food right here to Wausau. Our parents owned a taqueria growing up, and it's our goal to continue that legacy with a menu of traditional dishes all made with a modern twist of our own. In an open, airy space designed for total relaxation, you and your family are sure to have a great time when you join us for a meal! As one of the newest places in the area, we couldn't be more excited to be here, and we look forward to showing you what we've got cooking.

I ate at La Taqueria for the first time yesterday. I had the pork burrito in a bowl and Street corn and it was excellent! The food was delicious the place was very cozy and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean and had a great atmosphere.

Fantastic Al Pastor. I always get it with the Flamin Cali Fries and a side of the chori-queso dip. Service is always fast and friendly and the food is consistently great.

I grew up in New Mexico, so I know great Mexican food and La Taqueria delivers. The stars of the restaurant are the tacos, they are authentic and full of flavor. The supporting cast of other dishes do not disappoint either. Great for dine in and takeout.

The food is very good. I don't eat a lot of Mexican food, but this really made me eat more. I love the birra tacos they have (although only available on weekends) and their churros. Definitely my go to restaurant from now on.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. The people who work there are incredibly nice and extremely accommodating. The food is so delicious and fresh. I love their quesadillas and tacos particularly. I really enjoy this place and can’t wait to visit more!

Found this place on my way to another restaurant, and it was sooo good! It’s been a very very long time since I e had a taco this good. Tortillas were fresh, everything was delicious. Just walked in and asked for a recommendation and they suggested the birri. So good!
